King Lear's Character In William Shakespeare King Lear's Tragedy.

King Lear is the father of three daughters Regan, Gonerial and Cordelia. He loved his yougest daughter Cordelia very much and she loved and adored him too. But because of wrong judgement and his passion for flattery he failed to see this and fell into the evil trap of his two older daughters when he asked them too state how much they loved him and they flattered him to the extent that Cordelia truthful straight forward words made him banish her as his daughter and out of his castle.

Futhermore because of his wrong judgment he fell into the hands of those who only had evil intentions to take his fortune and leave him to suffer and this only led to exactly that leaving him without a family and a loving daughter he once had.
